We are excited to announce our 2nd Annual Winter Retreat!

You are invited to gather with us at the Hearth, a space of warmth, transformation, and liberation created with deep love for Black folks. This is our time once again to come together for our Second Annual Winter Gathering, an intimate weekend devoted to self-care, ancestral remembrance, and the merging of Indigenous wisdom, sacred plant medicine, and the beauty of our reflections held within an all-Black container.

Rooted in the sacred energies of Winter, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to reconnect with your inner wisdom, your ancestral strength, and the natural rhythms that support your healing journey. Winter is a season of turning inward, a time for grounding, listening deeply, and nurturing the parts of ourselves in need of restoration. This gathering honors that energy by creating a safe, intentional, trauma-informed space designed specifically for the healing of Black bodies, minds, and spirits.

Facilitator Adorable Earth Angel brings 12 years of experience working within sacred plant medicine traditions and continues her training with Indigenous elders of South America, including the powerful Shipibo-Konibo lineage. Her facilitation style holds reverence for Indigenous ceremonial ways while celebrating the richness of the Black experience, offering participants the chance to stand fully in their power and co-create this heartfelt prayer.

With the guidance of Grandmother medicine, we invite you to step into this winter hearth, to be held, nourished, and illuminated. Allow this weekend to be a moment of alignment, wholeness, and soulful renewal as we gather as community, honor our ancestors, and deepen into the warmth of collective healing.

Weekend Retreat Includes:

The Backdrop for Our Healing Weekend

Additional Information

Location amenities

Tucked into the hillside just 10 minutes from UC Berkeley and

30 minutes from San Francisco, our space offers privacy,

natural beauty, and modern amenities.

Accommodation options include cabins with 31 twin and full-sized beds in single and double rooms, along with limited space for camping. The facilities also feature several meeting areas, a pool, library, art studio, meditation building, and hiking trails that wind through 280 acres of pine and oak forest, providing ample opportunities for relaxation, reflection, and rejuvenation.

Types of Housing

Lodging for Hearth of Healing is intentionally simple and intimate, bringing us back to the “old school” days when ceremonies were held in someone’s living room and community gathered close.

The retreat center has limited private beds, so the weekend will primarily follow a dorm-style sleepover format, with a dedicated group sleeping space and comfortable mats provided for out of town participants. We invite locals to bring their own sleeping mats.

For those who prefer a bed, we have a very limited number of reserved options: a mix of king and full beds ideal for couples or friends who don’t mind sharing, and one additional twin bed available for a male participant. These 9 bed spots are offered at an additional cost and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dorm-style lodging is included in the retreat cost and offers a beautiful opportunity to root into the communal warmth and togetherness that honor the spirit of this winter healing container.

How We Nourish Ourselves

Food is an essential part of the healing process, especially when working with sacred plant medicine. For this retreat, we will be providing our signature hearty, nourishing dinner soups as always, along with a grounding breakfast each morning. In the spirit of community care and shared abundance, we invite participants to contribute to a potluck-style lunch, bringing one or two vegan items for everyone to enjoy.

We’ll share a suggested list of offerings to help guide the potluck, though participants are welcome to bring any vegan dish that feels aligned. As always, our meals are crafted to support the body’s healing and detoxification process, healthy, nourishing, and free of animal products and gluten.

We also check in about dietary needs and will do our best to accommodate individual sensitivities so that everyone is nourished throughout the weekend.

Pre & Post Integration One-on-One Sessions

For those seeking deeper support before or after ceremony, we offer 60-minute private integration sessions with Adorable Earth Angel. These sessions provide a grounded, compassionate, and spacious container to help you prepare for your healing work and process your experience afterward. Integration support can include energy alignment, emotional processing, intention clarity, guidance on navigating the medicine path, and personalized tools for sustaining your transformation.

Session Length: 55 minutes
Facilitator: Adorable Earth Angel
Contribution: $100

These sessions are optional but highly recommended for participants who want individualized care and support at any stage of their journey.

Registration

We will be opening pre-registration first for the community members who filled out the interest form. As a thank-you for helping us activate this retreat, they will have early access to reserve their spots before registration opens to the wider community.

Official registration opens on December 10th.

We have approximately 18 spots available for this retreat, and we’ve received more interest than space, so please note that spots are limited and will fill on a first-come basis.

If you are joining us through general registration, please check back here on December 10th to secure your place.

Join Our Upcomging Info Session

We’re excited to host two community info calls for both new and returning participants who feel called to connect with our work. These gatherings are a gentle entry point into the Black Condor prayer, a space to learn about our lineage, our approach to ceremony, and details about our upcoming Hearth of Healing Winter Retreat.

Whether you’re preparing to meet the medicine for the first time or returning for a deeper layer of your journey, these calls offer a supportive space to ask questions, feel into the container, and connect with the community before stepping into ceremony.

Feel free to reach out to us at blackcondortribe@gmail.com if you need further assistance or have any questions.

The retreat cost includes dinner and breakfast, participation in ceremonies, and access to all scheduled activities. Additional costs apply for housing and optional services like one on one support.

If you’d like to reserve one of the limited beds, please be sure to arrange your bed mate in advance. On your retreat application, indicate your desire to reserve a bed for the weekend, add your name (and your bed mate’s name) to the housing spreadsheet, and then submit your payment to complete the reservation.

Bed reservations are offered at a small additional cost:

  • Shared Full Bed | Four people per room: $50 per person

  • Shared King Room | Two people per room: $75 per person

  • Single Twin for Male | Shared room with another male: $45

Because of the limited number of beds available, all beds must be shared in order to ensure we have enough space for everyone. Dorm-style lodging with mats is included in the retreat cost for all participants.

The retreat center is a 30 minute drive from Oakland International Airport. We encourage both Bay Area locals and out-of-town participants to carpool and will provide a carpool coordination spreadsheet.

For those flying in, we recommend arriving a day early (Thursday Feb 12th) due to the unpredictability of flights.

Refunds are available before January 1st, 2025, and will be issued minus a $25 processing fee.

After January 1st, refunds are only available if the retreat is fully booked and we are able to fill your spot from the waitlist.

If a refund is issued after this date, the $25 processing fee still applies, as it covers the administrative time required to process participant information.

Thank you for understanding that this structure helps us keep our retreats sustainable and honors the time and resources invested into planning this healing space.

A detailed packing list will be provided after registration, including recommended clothing, personal items, and any specific items needed for ceremonies.

We will provide you with comprehensive preparation guidelines, including dietary restrictions, mental and physical preparation tips, and a pre-ceremony group call for additional support.

Yes, the retreat is designed to accommodate both beginners and experienced participants. Our facilitators will provide guidance and support throughout the entire experience.

To sign up for the retreat, simply complete the registration form and submit your deposit to secure your spot.

If you filled out the interest form, you’ll receive priority access with a direct registration link during the pre-registration window. After that period closes, general registration will open publicly on December 10th.

Because space is limited, we recommend registering as soon as the link becomes available.
